This chocolate milk is a kind of fairy tale of chocolate milks. Let me explain, I was on my what I knew would be a long day at work and decided to buy a half gallon of chocolate milk, planning on it being Borden. I was about to walk away from the dairy section of Walmart when suddenly I saw this brand I had never heard of, Darigold. They only sold it one size too, a half gallon. Nothing smaller and nothing larger was available, and I knew that if it was a horrible chocolate milk I would be forced to drink half a gallon of milk on par with Organic Valley’s disgusting liquid. What I was not expecting as I checked out of the express line, was for it to instead be on par with Promised Land and be the highlight of my day. As I took the first sip from the half gallon on my way out the parking lot I stopped as I was greeted by creamy, rich chocolate milk that hit all the check marks. It has a deep flavor that makes you know they used real chocolate, with a creamy texture that makes it feel filling and satisfying. Now some people might ask, which one is better then, Promised Land or Darigold? Which has the throne of best chocolate milk? Well, fortunately, I do not have to answer this question. The way I see it, Promised Land is only sold in smaller quart or less sizes in my area, and Darigold is only sold in half gallons. I get the best of both worlds, and simply have to choose which one I wish to enjoy. I definitely suggest trying Darigold the next time you have a chance, especially if you have already tried Promised Land, and to make your own judgments about which is best. -Off to Pour a Glass
